Children’s Book Prototype
Title: Red Cat Red Cat Red Cat Blue
Tools: Adobe Illustrator, Corel Painter 12, MS Publisher, Printer, Sewing Machine, Paper Cutter
Comment: Picture book book prototypes are printed, cut, sewn and glued by hand into complete books.  They are created in sets of four.  Each prototype set includes at least three hand-created hardcovers, and sometimes a book jacket.

The purpose of the prototype is two-fold:

1. Testing:  We want to touch and feel a replica of what we want the final book to be.  
2. Art: We want to have hand-created pieces of art from the book concept.  The best one of the four prototypes is given as a gift to the person who the book is dedicated to.  The others are kept in our lab.
